THOUGHTS ON LEADERSHIP: NETWORK, CELEBRATE, CONNECT

By Gino Blefari

This week my travels find me in Northern California. On Monday, I met with technology experts who are helping our organization tackle the complexities and subtleties of putting together an effective technology plan. In a world driven by technology and competition, it’s important for non-biased experts to recommend a path forward for our company. They examined what we’re doing without agenda or predisposition and we were able to have constructive conversations. The combination of business and technology is an art rather than a science and having the right people in the room allowed for creative collaboration to flourish.

Thoughts on Leadership: Conferences Are Key

By Gino Blefari

This week my travels find me finishing up an eight-day road trip, today spending time at our HSF Affiliates headquarters in Irvine, CA to work on exciting projects, meet with our staff and make sure our core company objectives—our WIGS—are being met.

During my travels, I had the opportunity to attend two great conferences: Brian Buffini’s MasterMind Summit at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and Tom Ferry’s Success Summit at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Thoughts on Leadership: Take Time to Recharge

By Gino Blefari

This week my travels find me in Irvine, CA at our HSF Affiliates LLC headquarters after a busy week in San Antonio for the 2018 Sales Convention. Our annual Sales Convention is always one of my favorite times of the year, a chance to help inspire our network members to innovate, achieve more and grow their businesses through educational sessions, motivational speakers and collaborative discussions. (As I say, in addition to making great connections and learning something new, I guarantee you’ll meet a colleague at Sales Convention who will be good for at least one more deal this year.) But once the event is done, I always take time to recharge.

The concept is powerful yet sometimes overlooked by leaders. We cannot go full force all the time and if we do, we’ll surely wind up burning out or not being fully committed to those particular actions and initiatives (the lead measures) that help us achieve our Wildly Important Goals.

The REthink Council Experience

By Cameron Deehr

When I was selected for the REthink Council, I had no idea what the next two years had in store for me or my business. I was honored to be named one of four inductees selected to the council for the 2017-2018 term, and I was eager to begin networking with the other fourteen council members, all of whom I knew would bring something different and exciting to the table. From focusing strictly on the luxury market or working as a buyer’s agent on a team, to sharing the best practices that help build and establish relationships with clients, all of the “know how” the other members have in their specific “niches” is impressive. It also makes REthink meetings ideal for learning at least one  new idea to implement into your own business.

Thoughts on Leadership: Networking at Holiday Parties

By Gino Blefari

This week my travels find me in Irvine, CA at our HSF Affiliates HQ for meetings and for our annual HSF Affiliates pancake breakfast and holiday party. We’re celebrating an incredible team I’m proud to be a part of, with members as hard-working as they are dedicated to achieving our organization’s Wildly Important Goals. It’s with deep gratitude that I find myself among such esteemed colleagues and as I always say, “I love what I do largely because of who I get to do it with.”

The Power of a Handwritten Note

By Megan Owens

In an age where technology and digital communication have become so prevalent in our society, we can often overlook the power of a handwritten note. There are two different kinds of handwritten notes: personal and business.

Thoughts on Leadership: 11 Days of Travel

Thoughts on Leadership: Learning from Mavericks

By Gino Blefari

This week my travels found me in Tampa, Florida for the biannual meeting of the Mavericks, a small think tank of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network CEOs who get together to exchange ideas and foster company growth. This particular meeting was hosted by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group and the brokerage’s leadership team of Broker/Owner Dewey Mitchell and Broker/Owner Allen Crumbley. For three days, we bonded—eating breakfast, lunch and dinner together between meetings—and for three days we discussed Florida Property Group’s strengths and challenges. (At the next Mavericks meeting Dewey and Allen will report back on changes implemented.) It was an inspiring conference, as it always is, and I had four key takeaways from the meeting that I want to share with you now:
