This week my travels find me back in Hawaii for another close friend’s wedding. (Congratulations, Justin Moles and Natalie Ventimiglia! On a personal note, I’ve been friends with Justin’s dad since third grade.) In this tropical island setting, surrounded by love and aloha, I’m reminded about the value at the very center of the value pyramid: friendship.
This week my travels find me in Hawaii, where I had the privilege of officiating the marriage of my good friends Jun Lee and Adam Brooks. Beyond being a great person and close acquaintance, Jun also happens to be a professional golfer at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose, CA. She was personally trained by Hank Haney, Butch Harman and Paul Runyan.

This week my travels find me in Northern California, taking meetings, participating in conference calls and helping our teams achieve their goals faster than they would in my absence. If you’ve been following our Thoughts on Leadership posts, you’ll remember we started off the year with an entire month dedicated to goals and this month, I’d like to talk about another important topic: habits.
This week my travels first found me in New Orleans at RESPRO26, an event that brought together real estate leaders—the nation’s top brokers, home builders, mortgage lenders, and title/settlement service providers—for a three-day conference on affiliated businesses and strategic alliances in the home buying and financing industry.
This week my travels find me in Northern California, working and taking time to recharge after a whirlwind week in Las Vegas for the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Sales Convention. The theme for this year’s event was ALL IN and as we now begin to entwine that phrase into our businesses and lives, one question comes to mind: How can we really know when we’re ALL IN?

This week my travels found me in Las Vegas for the 2019 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Sales Convention, which was a three-day-long extravaganza of education, networking and fun. The theme for this year’s Sales Convention was ALL IN, and throughout the event, we discussed the phrase to figure out exactly how it applies to our brand, our industry and our professional growth. As mentioned onstage, ALL IN must take on a higher and more noble meaning. Being ALL IN in real estate begins with being ALL IN with ourselves. We cannot help others until we know how to help and care for ourselves.

Jason Waugh, president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate, hosted the meeting, which was also attended by HomeServices of America Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Dana Strandmo; HomeServices of America Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mike Warmka; Tom Tognoli, president and CEO of Intero Real Estate Services; Andy Nazaroff, broker/president and CEO, Guarantee Real Estate; and selected members of their teams.
